Law Firm Dickie McCamey Hosts Catholic Charities Annual Christmas Gift Distribution

2,500 Gifts to Delight Over 500 Children this Christmas

Catholic Charities Annual Christmas Gift Distribution takes place Saturday, Dec. 20 and thanks to the national law firm of Dickie McCamey it will be held at the perfect location, the firm’s headquarters at Four Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

“We are grateful to Dickie McCamey’s Chief Operating Officer Chris Lee and the entire firm for making this space available to us and for collaborating in service,” said Susan Rauscher, CEO of Catholic Charities.

“When Catholic Charities asked about using our space for their annual gift distribution event, it was an easy yes. Our firm is committed to the Pittsburgh community and helping our neighbors in need. This opportunity also provides a wonderful volunteer activity for our staff this holiday season,” said Lee. “We are looking forward to our role in this annual tradition of service.”

“Catholic Charities requires a large, easily accessible space for its gifts and workers that number 2,500 presents and 180 volunteers to deliver gifts to families in need and available space at our building on 111 Boulevard of the Allies decreased dramatically over recent weeks as we move Red Door Ministry meal services completely into our first floor in anticipation of cold winter months and increased need,” Rauscher explained.

Dickie McCamey’s new Conference Center at Four Gateway Center is an easily accessible location with enough square footage to host the holiday distribution in style.

Rauscher noted that the gifts that are contributed to this event are also a collaborative effort with many of the Catholic Parishes in the Pittsburgh Diocese.

“During the entire month of December, our team collects gifts from parishes across the Diocese. Some of the collections require three vehicles to accept and transport. We are deeply grateful for this ongoing support for the families we serve,” said Rauscher.

Since its inception in 1910, Catholic Charities in Pittsburgh has been a resource for those in need. Throughout a century of service, Catholic Charities has evolved, growing outreach beyond transactional one-time assistance to providing long-term solutions for clients through a holistic continuum of care.
