Bringing Thanksgiving Home: Catholic Charities Delivers Holiday Meals with Care

This Thanksgiving, Catholic Charities’ Emerging Leaders Council made the season brighter for families across the region by organizing a special meal delivery initiative. With the help of 95 dedicated volunteers, 168 households received the makings of a hearty holiday meal, ensuring that more than 800 individuals could celebrate with dignity and joy.

Each family received a tailored package, which included:

  • Main Course Options: A turkey, halal meats, or vegetarian alternatives
  • Nonperishable Thanksgiving Staples: Corn, stuffing mix, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and pie fillings.
  • Fresh Produce: Cabbage, potatoes, pineapple, apples, onions, and cauliflower.

In total, 1,553 nonperishable items were distributed alongside an array of fresh foods, creating a meaningful experience for those served.

This effort, powered by compassion and teamwork, exemplifies the spirit of Catholic Charities: ensuring that every family has a reason to give thanks.
