The Connect Initiative is designed to streamline communication and deepen relationships between Parishes and Catholic Charities. This initiative will help each entity to:

• Learn about needs, ministries, and available services
• Connect to develop opportunities for engagement
• Elevate awareness of the good works throughout our Diocese
• Increase Impact to help more people in need together than we can individually

How to Get Started

Step 1

Identify an individual who can serve as your Parish Ambassador to establish a direct line of communication with Catholic Charities.

Ideal skillsets for this role may include someone who is:

• Informed about parish needs
• Passionate about social concerns within the community
• Can communicate effectively between Parish staff/volunteers and Catholic Charities contact(s).
• Spread the word about Catholic Charities services and ways to get involved.

Possible examples: Social Service Minister, Pastoral Associate, Deacon, Parish Volunteer

Step 2

Once a Parish Ambassador has been identified ask him/her to contact Catholic Charities Community and Parish Engagement Officer, Bethany Young, at byoung@ccpgh.org or 412-456-6969.
