Family Christmas Plan (Allegheny)

Position Summary: Catholic Charities is looking for an intern to help coordinator our Family Christmas Plan program in Allegheny County. This individual will empower 15 to 20 families to develop an individualized plan for the holidays. This individual will meet weekly with families and review topics including budgeting, stress management, creating Christmas traditions and more. Must be able to commit to eight hours a week from August through December.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Enroll 15-20 families who are interested in participating in our Family Christmas Plan Program
  • Assist families in creating an individualized plant to meet these goals for the holiday season
  • Meet regularly with families to review specific life skills including budgeting, stress management, Christmas traditions
  • Create case notes and document your sessions in our client record management system.
  • Assist with sorting Christmas gifts in preparation for our Christmas gift distribution

Main location: 111 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Hours: Hours can be flexible between Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm​​​​​​

Supervised by: Allegheny County Outreach Caseworkers

Qualifications: No formal training or experience needed, just a heart and compassion for helping families in need.​​​​​​

Clearances: Must obtain Act 33 and Act 34 and FBI Fingerprint clearances
