Volunteer Opportunities

Advocate for the rights of residents in long-term facilities. Provide emotional support to residents and investigate complaints working with facility staff for a resolution. Educate residents and their families about Resident Rights and services. Training will be provided by Pennsylvania Department of Aging so you can advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves. Must be 18 years of age or older and requires State Police and Child Protective Clearance.
Provide unbiased Medicare health insurance counseling. Answer beneficiary questions on Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and more. Trained free and Certified by PA Department of Aging. Requires State Police and Child Protective Clearance.
Lawrence County Area Agency on Aging has volunteer opportunities at their New Castle and Ellwood City locations. Both senior centers offer a variety of volunteer opportunities including: Arts & Crafts – Fitness Room Monitor – Lunch Servers – Bingo Callers – Basic Technology Class (Smartphone/Tablets) ---Both Centers are open Monday through Friday. New Castle Hours of operation are: 7:30AM-4:30PM & Ellwood Center Hours are 8:00AM-4:00PM.
