Call to Family, Community, and Participation

March 2025

Core Principle

The Catholic Church teaches that humans are inherently social beings, created to live in relationship with others. The principle of the Call to Family, Community, and Participation emphasizes the importance of engaging in community life and contributing to the common good. In this Jubilee Year 2025, we especially focus on the spirit of volunteering during the month of March. Volunteering is a powerful expression of this teaching, as it allows individuals to use their time, talents, and resources to support others, uphold human dignity, and promote social justice.

Scriptural Reflection

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."

Matthew 25:35

Prayer & Petitions

God of all creation,

As celebrate this year of Jubilee, this month we reflect on the call to family, community, and participation.

  • Inspire us to actively participate in our communities and to recognize the dignity of every person.
  • Guide us to use our gifts and talents to serve others and to promote social justice.
  • Strengthen our commitment to volunteerism and to work for the common good.
  • Help us to see Christ in those we serve and to respond with compassion and love.
  • Grant us the grace to balance our service with moments of rest and renewal in Your presence.
  • Unite us in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world, working together for a more just and loving society.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
