Solidarity

February 2025

Core Principle

The Catholic Church teaches that we are one human family, regardless of our national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. We are called to live in solidarity with one another, recognizing our interconnectedness and working together for the common good. This principle emphasizes the importance of unity, cooperation, and mutual support, especially for the most vulnerable members of our society.

Scriptural Reflection

"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ."

1 Corinthians 12:12

Prayer & Petitions

God of all creation,

As we move into February, we reflect on your teaching of Solidarity.

  • Help us to see the interconnectedness of all people and to recognize our shared humanity. Inspire us to build bridges of understanding and to break down the walls that divide us.
  • Guide us to work for a world where all people have access to the resources they need to thrive.
  • Strengthen our commitment to stand in solidarity with those who are marginalized and oppressed.
  • Open our hearts to the needs of our neighbors, both near and far.
  • May our actions reflect our belief that we are all one family, united in your love.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
